Puerto Rico has moved to cancel c controversial contract with whitefish Energy.

 The head of Puerto Rico’s power authority has on Sunday moved to cancel a controversial contract with Whitefish Energy, a small Montana company under scrutiny for the deal worth hundreds of millions to help restore power to the hurricane-ravaged island.
Announcement of the said cancellation came few hours after Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló asked the board of Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) to cancel the contract with Whitefish during a news conference on Sunday morning.
PREPA CEO Ricardo Ramos said during a news conference Sunday afternoon that he accepted the governor’s recommendation and would be writing a letter to the board of directors “asking for a resolution that will allow me to cancel the contract,” stating that the contract was not officially canceled as of yesterday.
