A police officer allegedly shot one person dead while two other are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delta state. The inspector whose name was given as Samuel Imana, was stationed at area command in Warrington.
The policeman was who was said to be under the influence of alcohol attended a child dedication ceremony. According to Sapele Olofofo, two of the victims, one Elvis Kugbere and another man have been confirmed dead, while the last one is in a coma at University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
This happened at Ejewo Street, Off Okere Ugberikoko Road, Warri, Delta State.
Eye witness report disclose that, Inspector Imana had accompanied three Yahoo boys to the event. However, in a bid of display of loyalty, Samuel was shooting sporadically when the yahoo boys started spraying money. But later pointed the gun at the crowd where he fired the shot that killed the victim after he was rushed to the hospital.
The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed the incident, with the officer under investigation and charge with professional misconduct.
